Talking about your interests

Talking about your interests

Welcome to today's lesson! We'll learn how to talk about hobbies using expressions like "interested in," “into”, “crazy about”, "keen on," and “fond of”. Through student conversations, you'll discover new ways to express what you enjoy. Let's get started!

1. **Emma**: "I'm really interested in painting. I love experimenting with colors and different techniques. I've also been keen on visiting art galleries to get inspiration for my own work.

2. **Liam**: "I'm crazy about football! I play every weekend with my friends, and I'm really into following all the major leagues. Watching matches is how I spend most of my evenings, and I'm fond of collecting team jerseys.

3. **Sophia**: "I've always been fond of reading. Ever since I was a kid, I’d be lost in books for hours. Now, I’m keen on exploring different genres, especially thrillers and historical fiction. I'm also interested in joining a book club to meet others who share this passion.”

Read and Listen to a story

Ethan looked at himself in the mirror. He was tired of his gray suit and boring life. Every day was the same: work, eat dinner, and go to bed. He didn't have exciting stories to tell, and even his friends called him boring.

One day, Ethan found an old painting kit in the attic. Curious, he decided to try painting. He enjoyed putting bright colors on the canvas, and it made him feel happy. Feeling encouraged, he then picked up an old guitar and started to learn music.

Ethan joined art classes, hiking groups, and community events. With each new activity, he made friends and discovered new interests. His life became full of laughter and fun.

A few months later, Ethan went to a gathering with friends. This time, he shared stories about hiking and road trips. He realized he had changed. He didn't just find new hobbies—he found a joyful and exciting life that he never thought he could have.
