Describing a friend

Sample Essay: Describing a Friend

One of my best friends is named Maria. Maria and I met in school five years ago, and since then, we have become very close. She is one of the kindest people I know, always ready to help others and make them smile.

Maria is quite tall and has long black hair that she often ties in a ponytail. Her eyes are warm and inviting, which makes you feel at ease when talking to her. She prefers wearing comfortable clothes like jeans and t-shirts, often in bright colors that reflect her cheerful personality.

What makes Maria special is her caring nature. She is always the first person to offer help when someone is in trouble. Last month, when our classmate John was sick, Maria was the one who visited him at home and brought him the homework so he wouldn't fall behind in class. Her thoughtfulness shows her big heart.

She is also very hardworking and determined. Maria is good at sports and academics. She is an excellent soccer player and one of the top students in our class. Her determination to be good at what she does inspires everyone around her.

We spend a lot of time together, both at school and outside. We enjoy going to the park, where we walk or play games. Maria is very funny and can make up stories that make me laugh out loud. We also like to study together, as she is a good study partner who helps me understand things I find difficult.

In conclusion, Maria is more than just a friend to me; she is like a sister. Her kindness, dedication, and sense of humor make her a wonderful person to be around. I feel lucky to have a friend like Maria, and I hope our friendship lasts forever.
